Get stock price in Excel and Google Sheets

Many of our users have been using our Excel and Google Sheets add-on to retrieve financial data and automatically build multiple valuation models. However, we have received many questions/requests about how to get stock price and more than 5 years of financial statements. That is why we write this short post to briefly mention the Finsheet add-on that will let users obtain stock price in Excel and stock price Google Sheets; and much more.

Stock price

Finsheet has two options for users to get stock price. They are FS_Streaming and FS_Latest. As you may have guess from the names, the former function lets you stream live price of US stocks why the latter returns a snapshot of the most current price for a particular stock. FS_Latest is available for Free but you will need to subscribe to a premium plan to use FS_Streaming. These two functions are very handy if you are a day trader and need to keep track of your equity investments closely during the market hours. Another plus thing about these 2 functions, and Finsheet, in general is they also support other asset classes beyond stocks such as crypto, forex, ETFs and US mutual funds. However, Finsheet does not provide stock squeeze data. To get that data, check out stock squeeze API on RapidAPI for comprehensive historical data.

Historical financial statements

Due to the agreement with our data provider, you can only retrieve 5 years of historical financial statements with our Excel and Google Sheets add-on. With Finsheet, however, you can obtain the full 30+ years of financial statements for any stock right to your spreadsheet. There are also all frequency (TTM, FY, Q, YTD) for you to choose depending on your financial analysis. If you need to analyze the historical financial performance of any stock beyond 5 years, we strongly recommend you check out their FS_EquityFullFinancials function. Furthermore, they also have the function FS_EquityMetrics which only return exactly the metric you need instead of the full financial statement.

Overall we think Finsheet is the ideal choice if you need stock data in Excel and Google Sheet, especially stock price. Here is the link to their stock price in Excel and stock price Google Sheets.
